Maybelline Skvortzoff was born in 1993 near Paris. She studied in Brussels, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in comics from the Institut Saint-Luc, followed by a master’s degree in comics from the École de Recherche Graphique (2018).
Her first graphic novel, Roxane vend ses culottes, was published in 2022 by Éditions Tanibis and was featured in several selections, including the official selection of the Festival d’Angoulême in 2023. The book received the Prix Artémisia (Humor category) that same year. Desfiladeros Ediciones published the book in Spanish in November of 2025, Roxane vende sus bragas.
Her book Tachycardie, a choral narrative exploring desire, love, and adolescence, comes out in France in March of 2026. She worked on this project in Barcelona as part of a residency program developed in partnership with the Institut Français d’Espagne, the Ficomic, Escola Joso, and the Cité internationale de la bande dessinée et de l’image.
