BARCELONA COMIC GRANT – LYON
FICOMIC (the Federation of Professional Comic Institutions) and LYON BD ORGANISATION are renewing their partnership with the Comic Barcelona Scholarship for another year.
The scholarship provides young artists and writers with the opportunity to develop an unpublished comic book project during a three-month artist residency in Lyon, France, while gaining exposure to the professional side of the industry.
The initiative is aimed at emerging talent and fosters creativity and innovation in graphic comics. It also promotes the international mobility of artists, encourages exchange and collaborative networks among creators, and strengthens cultural ties between France and Spain.

The Comic Barcelona Lyon 2025-2026 Scholarship for New Talents goes to María Lobato
The selected author will benefit from a three-month residency, equipment, and expenses for the creation of a comic project.
The COMIC BARCELONA SCHOLARSHIP, organized by FICOMIC (the Federation of Professional Comic Institutions), in collaboration with the association LYON BD ORGANISATION, has a winner.
A selection committee, composed of an independent jury formed by Antoni Guiral, Julià Florit, Gemma Domingo, and the author Sandra Cardona, awarded the prize to the young talent María Lobato for her project Entrañas (Guts).
