Raquel Gu
(Barcelona, 1972)

She is a philologist, translator and started drawing since she learned how to hold a pencil. She combines her work as an illustrator and graphic artist with the translation. She has published graphic humor books, comics and children's albums. Her clear and concise vignettes have appeared in Els matins de TV3, El matí de Catalunya Ràdio and the Instagram account of Catalunya Ràdio. She has also drawn for the magazines El Jueves, with the series Las estupendas (The Great Women) that received in 2021 the award for best humor script and humorous drawing granted by Diario de Avisos; Jot Down and the digital magazine Principia. She is currently a member of the board of directors of Instituto Quevedo de las Artes del Humor, where he curates exhibitions on graphic humor, and publishes humor stories in the magazines Pikarra and El Salto. Her latest book is La edad estupenda (The Great Age - Sapristi, 2023).

If she didn't draw cartoons, it would be even harder for her to understand life.
