Júlia Rubau
Nominated for Children's Comic Millor and Miguel Gallardo Award for Revelation Author

Júlia Rubau was born in 2001 in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona. She graduated in 2023 from the Escola Joso School of Comics and Visual Arts. There, alongside Jhansue Margulis, Derek Marcé, Lara Joven, and Joan Sorribas, she created a fanzine titled REM! as her final project, where she began developing her approachable style featuring harmonious, soft color palettes.

She collaborated with Escola Joso for three years on the Primavera Graphic Sound initiative, illustrating live concerts at the Primavera Sound festival.

In 2024 and 2025, she participated in the Shortbox Comics Fair, an international, digital, innovative fair that allowed her to create two short comics, My Precious Deadly Flower and Beyond the Hearth.

In 2024, she won the Carnet Jove Comic Award, a Catalan Youth Agency initiative that promotes the creation of Catalan comics. Her first full-length project, El misteri de la geoda Rosada (The Mystery of the Pink Geode), was published in Spain by Astronave, the children's imprint of Norma Editorial. The work was nominated for Best Children’s Comic at the Finestres Awards and won the same category at the ANTIFAZ Awards at the Valencia Comic Fair.

In 2025, her project Lalu & Lula was selected as one of the 40 winning projects of the Ministry of Culture's Grant for Comic Book Creation.
