Emma Ríos is a comic book author whose background lies somewhere between architecture and self-publishing.

After working on commission for American publishers such as Marvel Entertainment and DC Comics, she began working independently in 2013 with Image Comics. She has created solo works such as I.D. and her most ambitious and personal work to date, Anzuelo (Hook), as well as Mirror, which she created in collaboration with Hwei Lim. She is currently working on the fourth volume of Bella Muerte with Kelly Sue DeConnick. She has been nominated for several Eisner Awards for this series and won the award for Best Cover Artist in 2020.
