Illustrator and Cartoonist
Artur Díaz Martínez, better known as Artur Laperla, was born in Barcelona in 1975. He studied philosophy at the University of Barcelona and illustration at the Serra i Abella School of Art and Design.
Since 1996, he has worked as a scriptwriter, illustrator, and cartoonist for publishers such as Enciclopedia Catalana, Teide, Barcanova, Cruïlla, SM, Edebé, Salvat, and Larousse, as well as comic book publishers such as Planeta de Agostini, La Cúpula, and the Canadian publisher Paquet.
His most recent works include Las increíbles y superheróicas aventuras de XXL (The Incredible and Superheroic Adventures of XXL), published by SM with text by Eduard Márquez; Louis Armstrong, Potato Head Blues, for Discmedi, with a script by Miquel Jurado; and the comic strip Soy ídolo tuyo (I am your Idol) in Rock de Lux magazine, with illustrations by Marcos Morán.
In the French market, he has published Voleurs de chien, Matilda Clark, and La tête de Wilson l’enragé with Paquet.
