María Pérez Lobato is a comic artist and illustrator from Granada.
She studied graphic design and comics at EASD Val del Omar, and she spends her days making comics, inventing stories, and carrying her sketchbook everywhere she goes (even if she doesn’t end up using it).

Her beginnings in comics, through short works such as Ojos verdes, Aguas profundas, and Al amparo de la noche, have allowed her to explore through folklore, the supernatural, and the uncanny, the possibilities of graphic storytelling from its most emotional side. She has also addressed themes such as everyday life and intimacy, which she explores in Arrimarse al querer.

All of this has led her to embark on her first long-form work, which she is developing as the 2025 winner of the third edition of the Comic Barcelona Grant. Always eager to keep learning!
