44 Comic Barcelona will feature KOCCA (Korea Creative Content Agency), a South Korean public institution dedicated to promoting the internationalization of creative content. KOCCA will have a special focus on webtoons, illustration, and digital storytelling.

To mark the occasion, KOCCA has organized a program of activities aimed at fostering connections between professionals from the Korean publishing sector and local creators. This program will create a space for exchange, learning, and international exposure.

Among the participating organizations is Kenaz, a renowned Korean company that specializes in webtoons and web novels. Kenaz will be represented by its vice president, Mr. Park Youngjun. Kenaz's program offers mentoring and portfolio reviews for Spanish creators and could lead to future international collaborations and professional opportunities.

Other leading companies from the Korean industry will participate as well, including Tooneed and DCC, which have a solid track record in developing and promoting digital content internationally.

On Friday, May 15, the activity Webtoon Artist Debut Roadmap by Kenaz will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Comic Univers space. During the session, the Korean publishing company Kenaz will present the Webtoon Academy project, an initiative aimed at supporting the professional debut of new webtoon artists, offering a practical overview of training processes, mentorship, and access to the international industry.

Later that same day, the session Globalization of Webtoons and IP Expansion Strategies will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., also in the Comic Univers space. KOCCA Spain will analyze the origin and evolution of webtoons, their consolidation as an industry in South Korea, and the key factors behind their global success. The session will explore international expansion strategies and intellectual property (IP) development, as well as opportunities for application in the European market, with the participation of WooJae Lee (Kenaz), SeokHwan Yoon (DCC), and Ms. Miyoung Byoun, Director of KOCCA.
