For the first time, the Vinyeta Ficomic Award joins the literary awards in the Catalan language. The award aims to recognize and promote Catalan-language comics. Thanks to the collaboration of the cultural organization FICOMIC, the creation of this new award is part of the transformation of the traditional “Nit de Santa Llúcia” into the grand “Nit de les Lletres Catalanes”. This new format aims to establish itself as the leading cultural event in the Catalan-language literary sector.

The evening will bring together cultural professionals to celebrate literary creativity in Catalan and will host the presentation of twelve awards recognizing excellence in various literary fields.

The Vinyeta Ficomic Award recognizes the work of comic book authors from Catalan-speaking territories and highlights publishers committed to publishing works in Catalan. With a €2,000 prize, the award recognizes comic books published in Catalan in 2025.

The selection process combines the participation of the reading public and professionals in the sector with the final decision of a specialized jury to determine the winner. Voting will take place from January 22 to February 2, 2026. Nominees will be announced three days later, starting February 5, 2026.

With this new addition, the “Nit de les Lletres Catalanes” broadens its horizons, committing to a more diverse and contemporary conception of literature that fully integrates comics as a first-rate artistic expression.
