In collaboration with Comic Barcelona, these leading comic book authors will join the CCCB's major literary event.
The big names in the comic books industry arrive to Kosmopolis 2025, an amplified literary festival organized by the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB). This special edition, in collaboration with Comic Barcelona, will bring together two essential figures in contemporary comics: Chris Ware and Art Spiegelman. Both will participate in the festival celebrating the written word and will take part in a program that pays tribute to indie comics this year.
From October 22 to 26, these legendary artists who have transformed the language of comics will visit our city. We were able to enjoy one of these artists at the 43rd Comic Barcelona, where he was a guest of honor. Chris Ware returns to Barcelona as one of the stars of Kosmopolis 2025, continuing to expand the boundaries of auteur comics. Through his work, the artist behind Building Stories, has rethought the expressive possibilities of comics, opening up new paths in graphic storytelling.
Another essential figure joining the literary festival is Art Spiegelman, known worldwide as the author of Maus (Reservoir Books, 2007). Considered one of the most important comics of our time, Maus revolutionized the perception of comics as a literary and artistic form.
The collaboration between CCCB and Comic Barcelona allows the public to experience the artistic talent of these essential figures in comics through talks and activities.
