FICOMIC organizes the Sophie Castille Award for the Best Translation. The award will be granted to the best translation in Spanish or Catalan of Best Foreign Author's Work nominees.
The aim of the award is to recognize the work of the translator in the world of comic books, to highlight the importance of the work of translation in this field and to acknowledge the skill and dedication of the figure of the translator, who contributes significantly to the dissemination and understanding of these works in our country.

In the first phase of the Comic Barcelona Awards, five titles will be nominated for the Best Work by a Foreign Author category. From these five works, a jury composed of members of Red Vértice (Spanish network of associations of translators, interpreters and proofreaders) will evaluate the nominated works and choose three finalists and the winner of the Sophie Castille Award for the Best Translation. This award focuses on the evaluation of the translation of the work.

The three finalists were Regina López Muñoz for Alison (Errata Naturae), Montse Meneses for the Catalan translation of Monica (Editorial Finestres) and Gema Moraleda for her translation of Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands (Norma Editorial).
